START----> FINISH

So I r back from my quick trip to London to speak at dis MacVideo thang... I did my best to do like an inspiring go out and make your movie no matter how crazy it is thing... and they shot it with like 3 cameras and will post it online in the near future... I'll post the link here of course when it's available... but I think a big part of what I was saying was JUST START MAKING FILMS AND FINISH THEM... thanks to Rick for having me out there!

Thanks for your suggestions, comments, concerns, and fears in regard to a prospective Project Sooperman film etc...

I think what I'm leaning towards now is doing 5 new episodes.... Using Kickstarter to fund those episodes... then once those 5 are out... I will see if there is demand for a full length film based on it and if there is THEN I'll use Kickstarter to fund the feature version... if there isn't enough interest I'll start on my next "serious" feature...

I have never used it BUT I think Kickstarter is awesome for people that do what I do... I kinda feel like an idiot with HSM... I'm like OH I COULD HAVE RAISED MONEY BEFORE IT WAS DONE?!?! 0_o So if I remain "independent" with my projects from here on out I'll be using Kickstarter to fund them....

As far as HSM goes... its already done... there's just minor assembly work to be done now... so I can move on to other projects in the meantime...

  2. "Kickstarter is the largest funding platform for creative projects in the world. Every month, tens of thousands of amazing people pledge millions of dollars to projects from the worlds of music, film, art, technology, design, food, publishing and other creative fields.

    A new form of commerce and patronage. This is not about investment or lending. Project creators keep 100% ownership and control over their work. Instead, they offer products and experiences that are unique to each project.

    All or nothing funding. On Kickstarter, a project must reach its funding goal before time runs out or no money changes hands. Why? It protects everyone involved. Creators aren’t expected to develop their project without necessary funds, and it allows anyone to test concepts without risk.

    Each and every project is the independent creation of someone like you. Projects are big and small, serious and whimsical, traditional and experimental. They’re inspiring, entertaining and unbelievably diverse. We hope you agree... Welcome to Kickstarter!"

What format should I render out of Cinema 4d with?

UPDATED 2_27_13!  RENDER USING EXR Lossy Zip16! Since I'm working on a new feature film that will generate over 1500 shots made up of image sequences I need to make sure I choose the right file format to render to lest my hard drives explode. What I need from my format is  at least 16bit, an alpha included and preferably small size. I rendered out a frame from my film tallied up all the file sizes here- their all different types of codecs listed from smallest file size to largest. The render includes an RGBA pass, Depth pass, and Material Luminance pass because thats what I always render out. 1.00mb 8bit-Photo Jpeg %100 1.27mb 8bit-PNG 4.65mb 16bit- EXR lossy ZIP16 5.75mb 8bit-PSD 6.23mb 16bit-EXR lossy PLZ 6.44mb 16bit-PNG 7.94mb 8bit-TIFF 8.50mb 16bit-EXR Lossy 24 9.05mb 16bit-EXR Lossy Run Length 14.6mb 8bit-TARGA 22.4mb 32bit-EXR ZIP16 24.6mb 32bit-EXR Zip1 25.6mb 32bit-EXR PLZ 29.3mb 16bit-TIFF 29.3mb 16bit-PSD 40.0mb 32bit-EXR Run Length 58.7mb 16
