Heart String Marionette will be released June 15th

I just got back from a meeting with Endika and we set that date...so come rain or shine or whatever... you will be able to get Heart String Marionette on June 15th by immediate download for $5 for the 720p version of the movie + the soundtrack... there will also be a deluxe edition with the 1080p + more that will be priced a bit higher...

We decided that it is the best way to get the movie out to YOU... the people that have been waiting forever... we will release a DVD + digital versions in all the usual places at a later date...

Right now I'm working on the making-of documentary that will be included with the deluxe edition... please let me know what you would like to be included in it... we're also going to be launching a little forum for discussion and collaboration to subtitle the film in different languages and maybe even dub it in different languages... and where musicians can collaborate on alternative soundtracks for the film...

For the film's site where it'll be sold I'm just going to do it myself super simple like... using a blogger site, E-Junkie, and Amazon s3... if anyone out there is super savvy with that stuff and wants to give me a hand feel free to holla at me... my email is on the contact page of this blog...

I'm also working on the official trailer now....So when you see the official trailer for the film you'll be able to buy the film ^_^ I've seen a bunch of trailers recently wherein people were leaving comments about wanting to buy the movie right then.... but like they couldn't 0_o So my thinking is this... if someone is excited by that initial exposure they should be able to buy it instantly...IMPULSE BUY! ^_^

It's going to make us SO HAPPY so finally share this thing with you...

Thank you for your support and patience from me M dot Strange and my homie Endika.

  6. I would REALLY like to see the voice doing a few lines of the characters
even if you didn't record them while they were doing it
if we could see what they look like and maybe a line or who, that would be awesome~

  7. Congratulations man: very exciting. As far as behind the scenes, I would be interested in your rigging and animation advice now that you've done two features: you must know a lot of shortcuts and helpful tricks. I am also interested in the comping aspects: what kinds of passes did you use and how did you use them. I loved the BHS for WATS: look forward to the behind the scenes, and of course, the film itself.

  9. YESYESYES... awesome news! Take my money, all of it. I will be buying the deluxe version. I love making of stuff too, so whatever you put in there I'll love I'm sure and loop it on repeat as it is very motivational for getting my own stuff done. Really interested in render farms currently... And storyboarding, the planning and stuff is really cool. Did you do an animatic? That would be cool.

    Congrats, I will eagerly await.

What format should I render out of Cinema 4d with?

UPDATED 2_27_13!  RENDER USING EXR Lossy Zip16! Since I'm working on a new feature film that will generate over 1500 shots made up of image sequences I need to make sure I choose the right file format to render to lest my hard drives explode. What I need from my format is  at least 16bit, an alpha included and preferably small size. I rendered out a frame from my film tallied up all the file sizes here- their all different types of codecs listed from smallest file size to largest. The render includes an RGBA pass, Depth pass, and Material Luminance pass because thats what I always render out. 1.00mb 8bit-Photo Jpeg %100 1.27mb 8bit-PNG 4.65mb 16bit- EXR lossy ZIP16 5.75mb 8bit-PSD 6.23mb 16bit-EXR lossy PLZ 6.44mb 16bit-PNG 7.94mb 8bit-TIFF 8.50mb 16bit-EXR Lossy 24 9.05mb 16bit-EXR Lossy Run Length 14.6mb 8bit-TARGA 22.4mb 32bit-EXR ZIP16 24.6mb 32bit-EXR Zip1 25.6mb 32bit-EXR PLZ 29.3mb 16bit-TIFF 29.3mb 16bit-PSD 40.0mb 32bit-EXR Run Length 58.7mb 16
