Moving forward any way you can!

So I just finished a new 92 page animated feature script in 4 days- So now I will have four un-produced new scripts- their pretty useless sitting around until I make them into films but it got me thinking- So I'm thinking shouldn't I write novels based on my un-produced scripts since writing costs nothing to do? So I can write and release the novels as standalone works and see how their received... and the ones that get the most interest will be the ones I make into films? I've been working on my first novel thats not related to a film and I'm having fun with it and liking the results so why not turn the stories from the scripts into books? If they get no interest but I still love them I'll make them into films- otherwise its just more writing practice for me and more of my work in a different medium out there which can't hurt... I just feel that as a creative person you just have to keep moving forward exploring all possibilities that are open to you...

Get on the clocK to get more work done

So to make my goal of having some new writing projects done by 2013 I've adopted a new technique that may be helpful to some of you out there as well... Procrastination and distraction is our worst enemy especially if we do out work on a computer that has internet access... we can say we put in 2, 4 or 8 hours of work a day because we were like on the computer doing work off and on BUT we don't really know how much is work and how much is everything else... So I download this free OS X application called Thyme  as I do my writing on my Mac laptop... here's two different PC equivalents here and here I want to make sure I do at least 8 hours of pure writing a day- so when I'm writing I run the timer- when I get up to make tea or check my mail or do anything that is NOT writing I stop the timer and start it when I'm actually writing again... If you put the focused hours in you WILL get work done- so figure out how much time you can do a day and get on t

How to know which idea is the one?

Since my last film was finished I've written three feature screenplays but for whatever reason none of those are something that I want to make next- so I'm now starting on the 4th one that I will finish in a week- Motivations change- things that excite you as a filmmaker change- I have to always ask myself "What am I saying with this film?" and "What do I want to say at this point in time?" I'm over the thrill of the technical challenges, I'm over trying to prove something to myself, so now I can really get down to what is really important when choosing a film to make. When you start any big project you're trading years of your life to realize the project- so you have to think about what is worth trading years of your life for... What ideas or ideals are you willing to die for?  What message do you think is so important you need to trade your life in order to make it real? What topic can you not stop talking about? If y

You can't fail if you don't try right?

Let's try to learn some lessons in life and art from the Lil Jon track "Bia Bia" this is deep stuff righ here mayNE ^_^ If your a filmmaker/animator person or tryna be one... or claim to be one... Instead of going online and criticizing other people that are doing what you do or what you want to do ... instead of acting like a BIA BIA shouldn't you be working on your thing? There's stuff I don't like online but I'm not wasting my time trying to hollar at those people... its just a form of procrastination. Get em up -put em up- Stop actin a bitch and get yo hands up If you know how to do it right and do it better- well then get to work and show us how its done. Get em up! Represent yo shit! If you have done it better then show us what you have done! Represent yo shit! Represent it!  Don't have anything to reP? Than you've got nothing to say, all your judgements are based on NOTHING- we're not going to listen- You scared! Stop acti

Stereograms, film, secret societies, and hooded figures.

For people that don't know how to shift their vision to see the image or message within this image is just a bunch of random noise... BUT if you know how to shift your perception to see the image hidden inside... its obviously a human figure... you do not lack the ability to perceive what's hidden.... NOW for the people that lack the ability to see what the image is, it is their REAL experience that THIS IS a bunch of random noise... you can argue with them but until they gain the ability to SEE there's nothing you can do... Now I'm not a member of any secret societies like the O.T.O. or a part of the inner circle of Free Masonry or anything BUT even as a profane member of unilluminated society I'm aware that images such as these from "Secret teaches of all ages" contain a message... a lesson to learn... I am aware that this is not a random image or visual nonsense... I'm not aware of the images purpose or message because I'

New ideas be a growiN in 2012

So I'm working on a whole new animated film idea and a 2d game to go along with the film AND an unrelated 3d game that is probably the worst idea I've ever had so it'll probably be successful ^_^ I read this book and this book on Game Design which helped shift my brain into that world a little as I knew nothing about it and don't play games much anymore but it helped focus the ideas... So I'm hoping to move forward and learn a lot about creating games.... for the 2d one I'm playing with Construct 2  as its really easy to use and has some good features... for the 3d one I'm going to mess with Unity 3d . Super genuiS guy Tyson turned me on to Unity 3d after I saw the awesomeness that he is making with it in Zombox , I asked him how he learned Unity and he said that he just started using it and dug into the doc's so that was really inspiring! Most of these game engines have free versions so you can develop limited versions of your games without

Dying inside

"I was born alone and I died alone-before I go- you're all invited to the show- please stare- its the mask you made me wear- this is the face of true despair" Samhaine Tsuke in Heart String Marionette I see the true face of despair all the time... its all around me...  I hope the people that have seen Heart String Marionette realized that the tagline "You will die inside" is not claiming that the film will cause you to die inside- the film itself illustrates a few ways the status quo will cause you to "die inside" if you follow its lead... its life saying "you will die inside" We are everyone we've been up to this point in this life- I'm still the 5 year old me... the 10 year old me... the 15 year old me... they are all still in here... I hear their voices... sometimes I follow their leads... sometimes I don't...but I do listen... Your art needs your attention or it will die... you can be excited about it... it can have li
