My Bitcoin Wedding

So I just got married to my longtime girlfriend in Iceland. She @RakelMusicbox and I @MdotStrange make up the smallest animated feature film studio in the world as we work together on my films. The wedding only cost $60 because we just did the little civil ceremony.

We both do our best to be socially conscious people so when the minister asked us to present the rings I said “We don’t have any rings, I just gave her bitcoin”  because that’s what I did.

Children die because of diamonds. There is no such thing as a “Blood Bitcoin",  so why would anyone want a diamond to represent their relationship?! Bitcoin represents positive change for the world and will actually increase in value unlike diamonds.

So if you're planning on getting married forego the rings and exchange bitcoin instead. It’s better for the world and we need some new traditions for this new world we’re building everyday. AND if you end up getting divorced no one knows how much bitcoin you have so they can’t take half unless you want to give it to them ^_^

If you're feeling generous and want to help support the smallest, bitcoin married, animated feature film studio in the world- you can do so below ^_^  Thanks!

  17. Congrats to you and Rakel....:) I applaud you for your conscious effort on not buying into the "blood diamonds"... Here is a point of view from the flip side of the BITCOIN.... Diamonds and precious stones have been wanted and used by humans since the beginning of time... Now if one were to buy diamonds on a wholesale level they do increase in value... Its a direct representation of inflation... Its harder to make money on diamonds due to the fact there are many middle men involved in the actual mining, to the cutting, to the sale... It does not truly make a good investment... But the tangible asset is one worth having.. For example one buys 100 dollars of stock... Market crashes .... you have nothing.... you buy 100 dollars of diamonds the value plummets to 50 u still have something of value... see my point...??? its tangible its in your hands... from now till the end of time the value of tangible assets will always be there... Bitcoin on the other hand is an artificially created currency that is also affected by supply and demand... and also by inflation... As we all seen on the recent ups and downs... My point is to look at both sides of the BITCOIN ... Computers, TV's, cell phones, cars, renewable energy, ovens, just about every item in use today requires a certain amount of the 17 rare earth elements... How many villages, lives, children, have been lost to mining of these minerals...??? How much toxic waste, cancer, ground water contamination can mother earth take...??? BITCOIN is a direct representation of the technology world... where the mining for these elements are also bloody and the hands of the people are stained.... I understand you are not willing to conform to the norm... For that I envy you... But where do you draw the line...???

  18. I want to say a mega congratulations to you two amazing humans.

Mdot, you have been my source of motivation and inspiration for years.
You are basically my Yoda and it brings me great joy to know that you have found such an awesome and wonderful lady to conjoin vital organs with.
May you create many beautifully strange things together until the end of days.

I drink a toast of cheap alcohol out of a silver chalice to you both.

    All my feels,
    Jemilla

  22. That's astounding, man! You kept this somewhat "under wraps" until recently, unless I missed something else. Most excellent. Very full of gladness for ye. It's quite a thing to hear. This is a great thing in several aspects. May you go on well, innovating in legit cinema and whatever other art. Man, it's quite something to see the process of your life through these years since I "discovered" you in 2007 RD (Roman Date), and the development. 8D
You're the only filmmaker I can say I really have followed through and through so far. I hope the best for you two, that y'all be more favored. As always, Im anticipating to hear more, even though I don't write much. Phenomenal. I bid peace to ya. ^_^
